What a Session Actually Looks Like

Most people booking a massage spa for the first time want to know what they are walking into more than they want a list of technique names. Here is the whole thing, start to finish.

  1. Before you start

A short conversation about your health, anything that is sore, and what you want out of the session. It takes a few minutes and it is what stops the treatment being generic — your therapist needs to know where not to work as much as where to.

  2. Choosing the pressure

Soft pressure works broadly and rhythmically to settle everything down. Deep tissue works slowly into specific muscle layers to release chronic knots. You are not locked into the choice — pressure is adjusted mid-session on a word from you, and it should never be painful.

  3. The treatment itself

One therapist, one uninterrupted appointment, in a quiet room set up for bodywork: a heated couch, warm oils and towels for oil treatments, or a floor mat for traditional Thai work. No phones, no clock-watching, no queue of add-ons at the end.

  4. Afterwards

Water, and a few minutes to come round before you head back out — the effect of a good session is noticeably better if you are not straight through the door. Your therapist will say if anything is worth following up and when.

Our Massage Treatments

Prices, Durations and Blocks

Treatments run from 30 to 90 minutes depending on which one you book — the signature oil and traditional Thai massages offer all three lengths, while the shorter targeted treatments run in 30 or 60. Prices start at £35. The full table of every treatment and duration is on the prices page, with no booking needed to view it.

If you are working on something ongoing rather than booking a one-off, a block of 10 sessions saves 10% and the sessions do not have to be the same treatment each time. For the restorative side of what we offer — facials, scalp treatments, hot stone and aromatherapy — see our health spa treatments. If you are not sure a massage is right for you at the moment, our consultation page explains what we ask before treating and when we would suggest waiting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Every treatment here is hands-on massage delivered by a trained therapist, not a machine-led or beauty-counter service. The room is set up for bodywork — a heated treatment couch, a floor mat for traditional Thai work, warm oils and towels — and each session is a single uninterrupted appointment with one therapist rather than a conveyor of add-ons.

A 60-minute Thai Hot Oil Massage at soft pressure is the usual starting point — it suits almost everyone, gives the therapist time to read where you actually hold tension, and leaves room to talk about what to book next. If you arrive with a specific stubborn area, say so when you book and the session can be weighted towards it instead.

Between 30 and 90 minutes depending on the treatment — the signature oil and traditional Thai massages run in 30, 60 and 90-minute sessions, while the shorter targeted treatments run in 30 or 60. The full list of durations and prices for every treatment is on our prices page.

Soft pressure works broadly and rhythmically to settle the nervous system and ease general tightness — it is the better choice for stress, sleep and recovery. Deep tissue works slowly and firmly into specific muscle layers to release chronic knots. Neither should be painful; tell your therapist during the session and the pressure is adjusted there and then.

It depends on the treatment. Oil and aromatherapy massage is done on a couch with you undressed to your comfort level and covered by towels throughout — only the area being worked on is uncovered. Traditional Thai massage is done fully clothed on a floor mat, so wear or bring loose comfortable clothing.

Yes. A block of 10 sessions of any treatment saves 10% against the single-session price. It is the usual choice for people managing an ongoing tension pattern rather than booking a one-off, and the sessions do not have to be the same treatment each time.
